Susannah (c1634), Sacrifice of Isaac (1635), Belshazzar’s Feast (1636) & Portrait of Baartgen Martens Doomer (1640). Story telling is all in his religious works - tenseness, vulnerability & surprise. His portrait of Baartgen is a moving image of empathy.

The Abbey in the Oakwood (1809-10) by Caspar David Friedrich (German, 1774-1840). Leaning tombstones, sombre processions, lifeless trees, ruined structures in the mist, feelings over thinking. It must be Romanticism. #GothicArt

Un nouveau roman de #MyHeroAcademia est prévu le 4 octobre au Japon. Les histoires prendront place avant l'arc "The Meta Liberation Army" (chapitres 218 à 240).
My favourite ukiyo-e, incorporating their eerie folklore into a rich scene (c. 1840). Completed by Utagawa Kuniyoshi as a master of the style, it was supposed to be an illustration of a haunted, derelict mansion exhibiting a variety of supernatural manifestations as tales.
It's a complete mystery :D (card #40).

Frida Kahlo often dealt with death in her paintings, such as “Dream of the Bed” (1940). She even kept a papier-mâché skeleton named Juda above her bed in real life as a reminder that death could arrive at any time. #TalkDeath #DeathPositive #ArtHistory
