His Majesty's yacht Mary
A gift from the Dutch to Charles II as a restoration present.
She was the first Royal yacht to sail and the first to sink. She sank off Anglesey in 1675 whilst on a voyage to Dublin.
Beautiful calm, warm day. Wind has dropped. Seals and seabirds dive for fish in front of the house. #tywndu #penmon #ynysmon #Anglesey #katepettitt #enpleinair #sketchbook

Spotlight today on Charles Frederick Tunnicliffe, from My Country Book (1942). Seek out the permanent Tunnicliffe exhibition at Oriel Ynys Mon when you're on Anglesey. #vintagebooknostalgia
Today's Saturday artwork features the brush of Wilf Hardy, normally better known for his illustrations in the weekly comic 'Look and Learn' (and others) in the 1970's.
Here Folland Gnats of 4 FTS fly amongst the mountains of Snowdonia, near their base at RAF Valley, in Anglesey.

Two contrasting views evoking very different moods of Cemlyn Bay on the northwest coast of Ynys Môn (Anglesey). The artist, Audrey Hind (b.1936) moved to Wales in the early '60s, and her paintings are a response to its landscapes and the changing seasons.

Dreaming of starlit skies and sleeping mountains on this rainy Friday. #illustration born from missing the sea and clear skies on little Anglesey.
Have a safe and cosy weekend everyone!
Since lockdown, I’ve been exploring mark-making and expressive paint techniques to produce work based on memories of the coastline around Anglesey. @JANUSZCZAK
Feeling in the mood for an Edward Hopper painting with his dramatic dusk lighting. This image of a lighthouse, puts me in mind of South Stack on Anglesey @AngleseyScMedia @NathanJArt

The patroness of arts and crafts, called Brigantia in Britain and Brigit in Ireland, also left her mark on watery place names. The name of the River Braint in Anglesey is derived from Brigantia, as is that of the Brent in Middlesex #Folklore #waterlore #goddess #river
