Wild & windy on today! Took myself off to the beach a couple of weeks ago & started this on location. For safety’s sake, I finished it back in the studio 😂! “Wild and Windy, Trearddur Bay”(left) is a companion piece for “Bright and Breezy, Cable Bay”.

26 October 1859. The steam clipper, Royal Charter, powered by a coal fired engine, was wrecked in a storm near the Anglesey coast. The precise number of dead has been estimated from surviving records at 450, making it the highest death toll of any shipwreck on the Welsh coast.
