Today #DougieDraws recreated John Duncan Fergusson's 'Self Portrait'.
We really do love Dougie's addition of a super hero mask over the eyes!

The coastal locations of Margaret Morris's Summer Schools, at which outdoor classes were held and sea-bathing encouraged, gave JD Fergusson a constant supply of models on which to base his work.

Today #DougieDraws reconstructed 'At Gow's' by J D Fergusson 🎨 showcasing the new vogue for close-fitting cloche hats in the 1920's👗
We don't remember goth eyeliner being iconic in 1920s fashion though Dougie 😅
A new Sunday feature, works from 'The Hunterian Poems' online exhibition and the artwork which inspired it. ‘The Dancers' by Alan Riach, inspired by 'Les Eus' (1910) by JD Fergusson, one of our most popular works. Read the poem https://t.co/uDYSG1hpxI

In celebration of the new #EurovisionMovie 'moving' Glasgow's @TheSSEHydro to Edinburgh, we challenged #DougieDraws to recreate the iconic 'Ross Fountain: Princes Street Gardens by JD Fergusson'.
Maybe his next work could be 'moving' it to Perth?

Let's go with a bit of backstory for Fergusson, who has become one of my favorite Ocs.
As the rest of most of my ocs, he is a dire wolf, whose race has the ability of taking human forms. Let's say this poor boi didn't live a happy life.
John Duncan Fergusson (1874-1961) was another colourist. On the Cap (1920s), Pink Carnations & Narcissi (nd), Landscape (1916) & Paris Plage (1902). Fergusson was particularly interested in French art movements. It’s worth noting that Scotland & France have ‘an auld alliance’
Escape your lockdown home and go on holiday with modern Scottish artists in my latest curatorial blog, with works by William McCance in @McManusDundee Alberto Morrocco in @mcrartgallery

You've GOAT to be kidding! Another fantastic Fergusson inspired #DougieDraws for Monday morning! This sculpture, which was an enlargement of an original carved from plaster, was created after JD Fergusson recorded his delight in seeing some wild mountain goats in Wales 🐐
A Fergusson sculpture for today's #DougieDraws, Summer - Head of a Woman. Topical considering the temperature outside ☀
The title of this work suggests that JD Fergusson was interested in conveying the quality of neon light in a café interior. This provides a degree of continuity with his earlier interests in capturing the light particular to the time of day, or the weather.

Today #onlineartexchange @artukdotorg is celebrating spring! We love J D Fergusson's Spring in Glasgow @hunterian @hunteriandir #MuseumFromHome https://t.co/94fio85fIP
Today's #OnlineArtExchange from @artukdotorg is Spring Time! Gloxinias and Fuschias by JD Fergusson has been recreated for #DougieDraws, and it's giving us that springtime feeling. Lush💐
