This suit only happened after DC comics briefly lost the rights to Superman's original costume design to the heirs of the creators of Superman. DC then created the 52 comic book line and changed his suit design. Eventually, they won the case and returned the original design.

I know I’ve said this before but my favorite Superman artist might be the great John Buscema, who drew both a great Supes and Clark. Broody but somehow still Superman.

If he’d drawn more, it would have changed how people perceive the character forever.

I'd start w/ different eras of Superman. Play to his history. Golden Age, Silver Age, Post Crisis, Rebirth.

Each era has powers and villains featured in it.
