I still read a bit of trad pub. Besides Baen.

Koch's Alien series doesn't hide what it is in other categories. It is Primary Romance but the main couple is not saddled with many Romance tropes I detest. IE: Love Triangle. Or Absent Dad. Ect.

Respectively named Felix, Frauke, and Casimir, the bartenders of Stummelschwanz ("stubby tail") narrate the epilogues of DHN. Their personalities shine through in the way they wear their uniforms, and I have a lot of fun writing their commentaries on what goes in the pub.
