I was inspired by Patrick Arrasmith's scratchboard illustrations for "The Spook's Apprentice" series which has very precise lines. For the Solomon Kane drawing I looked at Gary Gianni's work in the pulp collection. I need to do a bigger Solomon Kane drawing sometime.

My Drawing Professor told me that you can actually color scratchboard with pen, so I tried doing my Bunny portrait with markers. The issue is that the red markers for her red glasses has a yellow shine to it.
So I decided to color it digitally, too.

Specter Knight time 👻
I redrew the old portrait sprite of him from the original Shovel Knight and I think Plague of Shadows too. The sketchy, almost scratchboard look really fits Specter Knight’s design.
