My idea: Get right into the good stuff. Quickly explain MM’s backstory in a flashy style ala Spiderverse. Have the plot be Wily spreading the Dark Energy from MM8 around the world. With the energy becoming so uncontrollable that both MM and Wily team up to stop it.
