Currently reading CAPTAIN ACTION: CLASSIC COLLECTION. it’s 1968, and DC employs Jim Shooter and Wally Wood to do a comic for a toy license. Starts off fine.

But then Gil Kane takes over on writing and art (Wood inks) and things get nuts. Here’s Kane and Wood channeling Ditko.

It was just a few years ago that we lost industry giant Steve Ditko. He was an inspiration to many.
Here's a poster I did as a tribute - based on the Dr Strange character he created when the film came out. It was featured at many cons all over the world.

Sam Raimi going bonkers and being creative as he possibly can with the Ditko boys in live action is a sight to behold.

If I had a quarter for every time a Steve Ditko-created superhero with a bug-theme had a soulmate with the initials MJ, I'd have two quarters. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it's happened twice.

Ditko's take is the baseline for the character, it has my respect for that alone.
Ultimate is what I grew up with, alongside Raimi's take, those are my default visions of Spider-Man due to that history.
I also REALLY like Spectacular, has my favorite style for the character too. https://t.co/jkYZqDjzAr

Today in 1962, Spider-Man swung into our hearts for the first time! Amazing Fantasy by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko arrived on newsstands to teach us that with great power there must also come great responsibility, hyphen or not.

Superior Spider-Man is the best! It was such a great story and suit design. It was the first time Spider-Man was menacing since Steve Ditko

Spider-Man turns 60 today! A BIG thank you to Stan Lee and Steve Ditko for creating a character that has left a tremendous impact on the world. Spider-Man represents humanity, a person trying their best every day no matter the challenges. Thank you Peter! Thank you Spidey!
