Bound to the Bark: Dryads & Hamadryads for this week's Tree Deities & Protectors of the Oak, so connected that they sadly die if the tree is cut down. Painted here by Waterhouse (1893), Evelyn de Morgan (1885) plus Tree Flower Fairies by Cicely Mary Barker (1920s)

Looking back at this piece was a stark reminder that I should draw more druids and dryads. I got a ton on my plate so I probably won't draw another one soon, but I gotta make at least one more before the year is over (august 2019)

Sometimes the "Narnia" books depict walking trees living in Narnia and other times dryads. As they never interact with each other, it's unclear their relationship or whether they're actually the same species. However, the art depicts them as very different.

It was that period in the vernal quarter when we may suppose the Dryads to be waking for the season.

As everyone knows, houseplants help against low moods, improve the indoor air, are beautiful to look at, turn into cuddly when properly cared for... the usual stuff. 😌

Something green and wholesome for the beginning of spring!🌷

Plant-Women, Dryads and Fleur Fatales. (1/8)

Daphne's legacy ranges from takes on 'Daphne's Revenge' as Fleur Fatales/Tree Sirens prey on human men - seen in 'Phantastes' (1858), 'The Woman of the Wood' (1926), 'His Vegetable Wife' (1986) and 'Into the Heartless Wood' (2021)

Creatures of Spriggan (Cornish)
Grotesque looking fae folk said to be ghosts of giants, their small stature betraying their strength. Usually having an unpleasant disposition, they delight in working mischief to any who have offended them. Sometimes confused with dryads.

Most of my work I make up... dryads types, but I also have fun drawing jackalopes.

Finished Paul's redesign! My oldest OC, who is a half celestial witch. He was separated at birth from his twin Zev, who grew up with their mom. As Paul was cursed, she tried to drown him, regretting it after leaving him. But he was already taken in by dryads.

My dryad gal Apricity, wandering the world of Azeroth trying to heal the damaged natures around ( Which is a lot) and to find her friend once again that she meet during Legion. Most dryads don't wander out of their grove but she is stubborn
