Cool as ice yet fierce as a blizzard, Fionnuala is an exceptional healer and clairvoyant of the Fianna. She is the one who sends the hero Fionn on his quest to craft Caliburn.

At the age of only 10 years old, Fionn Mac Cumhaill defeated Áillen Mac Mídhna, a wicked fairy who burned the fort at Tara down every Samhain. For this deed, he was given leadership of the Fianna, taking it from Goll Mac Morna, the man who killed his father.

Áillen Mac Mídhna was a fairy that would break into the Hill of Tara each Samhain, lull the people to sleep with his harp and burn the fort to the ground. He was finally vanquished by a young Fionn Mac Cumhaill, who then became leader of the Fianna as a reward.
