At first, I didn’t think much of the Baxcalibur line, but then I found out they were inspired by Concavenator, that also had a back spike thing, arm quills, and its fossils were found in SPAIN-
I love that they turned an obscure dinosaur into a Pokémon~

#Sauropelta, which lived about 115 million years ago, is a genus of well-known ankylosaurs because their fossils are well preserved, including intact skeletal fossils and many scales preserved in situ. #pnso #dinosaur
-based on the known fossils, it's likely a basal coelurosaur of some kind, possibly an early tyrannosauroid! If so, it probably had many of the traits basal tyrannosauroids typically had, such as long arms with 3-fingered hands and a slim body build! (2/2)

The Mosasaur and Dickinsonia fakemon I designed for @Lockstin's Alolan Fossils video!
These were a lot of fun to design as always! In the video he talks about what inspired him on these designs but I'll go into detail on what I added to them:
the oc vs the inspiration is trending sauuurrr heres vains crystal alt! it was just a regular alt palette at first but i decided to turn mineralized tissue (teeth/horns/etc) into opal after remembering that opalized fossils exist (img from timothy frauenfelder)

The Lagerstätten of Lebanon have provided some truly beautiful fossils. This is of one of the more charismatic species: Mimodactylus libanensis. It had Strikingly long wings and teeth only in the front of the snout. Images from Kellner et al., art by @JCsotonyi #FossilFriday
