I always wondered if Nolan would feel more kinship for The Immortal as he's one of the few people who would be able to sympathize with the struggles of longevity.
With Nolan gone the world really seems to open up as Kirkman begins zeroing in on the supporting cast more and more, we finally get to learn the deal with Monster Girl's powers and start to see the seed of her situationship with Robot.
Omni-man’s not really “evil Superman” like Homelander or Injustice are. His actual turn as an antagonist (in the comic) is as only 6 issues.

Hands down my favorite change is having Nolan really have to work for this victory, whether it's because the Guardians are a more viable threat than they posed in the comics or because he's actively regretting his actions and secretly hoping they'll stop him.
While I appreciate how casual this scene is in the comics, I think I actually prefer it being before Mark gets his suit in the show, I like that this marks a sort of transition point of Nolan and Mark's father/son actives shifting from normalcy to superheroics
Or was it that Nolan knew if Earth was considered safe by the Coalition they wouldn't investigate further so he allowed it to continue?
I wonder if Nolan knew Allen was from the Coalition...I have to assume so yeah?
A little sad we didn't see Beefy Frank's in the show due to a minor beat later on. I assume that Best Wurst is the shows equivalent but we sadly never got to see Nolan and Mark actually go.
I also think it was smart to have Nolan be the one to give Mark his inspiration for his name rather than Principal Winslow, adds more weight to it imo.

While it definitely tips it's hand a bit more, I think the show makes really great use of this scene to both let the audience know that Nolan has some feelings about Mark's powers developing while not quite giving away what those feelings are.
