So and have been working on an amazing addon for driving shapekeys relative to camera angle, and I've had the honour of playtesting! Here's a comparison of my Ririka model with and without camera keys. Still experimenting, but I'm stoked with the results!

In my previous tweet, you may have noticed the flat eye from the side view. Unfortunately, anime 3D models won't look great from every angle. Usually I "give up" some of the side view and prioritise front->3/4 view. Luckily we can fix with shapekeys! :) (also, Misato with lines)

Almost ready to export. Every time I get something to work right, something else breaks. Got shapekeys made? Head bone loses control over the head. Fixed that? Oh, now something's wrong with the shapekeys. 🙃 Modeling this has only gotten exponentially more difficult.
