I don't know how we can show this more clearly w/o discovering a perfect uncrushed specimen: the crest of Dilophosaurus is formed by a dorsal expansion of the sinus that forms the antorbital fenestra (bigol snout window). There is NO evidence of separation between crest & fossa.

2 of 2 for today is Snout, the croc fixer for Sasuke. Could the diety just flick problems from existence with a thought? Sure, but it's much more fun for both Sasuke and Snout to do things in a more conventional way. Sasuke gets results and Snout gets to kill.

Today’s is Mystriosuchus Fraas 1896. These including M. westphali & M. planirostris, have a looooong slender snout & short squamosals. A 3rd one, M. steinbergeri, was added in 2019. It's from Austria & was marine!

Submerging itself out of sight, it rose only its snout out of the water, through which it could mimic voices calling for help, to then attack always began with its tail, drowing its prey
