Sense I've never seen anyone else do it, I drew the Fairy from the first Legend of Zelda. I did 2 colors, one based on the in-game sprite, and one based on the official art.

It cannot, that's just the dynamic sprite, it can propel itself out of a tunnel toward you to attack but it crawls by default.

But for something like that you can make other parts smaller to have more space to work in the main part of a sprite, like a pickaxe.

You can change the perspective to make more space, making the cable of the pickaxe occuping less space

(a poorly made example 😅)
