recently i've been exploring using gradient maps to supply evocative color without actually getting down and dirty in the color mines. on the left is how the page looks with a gradient map, and on the right is how it's "really" colored with the gradient turned off:

Played around with studying normal maps last night. The bottle had some strong rendering already but it had a great shape to draw the map with. Need to study more and mess with light sources but am pleased with the results so far.
