Something I also did a lot last year, to help with worldbuilding my story, was make maps of distant worlds. This happened to be one of em, that I added Tiala into cause there was space and I had to justify making these randomly

Here's another example. The snow was just painted directly on top of the base after shifting the colors to be cooler.

Adjustment layers are your best friend. Play around with color balance, selective color, gradient maps, color lookup, etc and learn how they all work!
