I don't like the colors so much anymore. Nowadays I would push the contrast more. But the motive is way to funny to not share it with you xD

Ohhh, I really like the 3rd, mostly because it's such a contrast to the 1st one! It's always so fun to see how wild hair would look when combed/gelled! >w<
As for hairstyle suggestions, maybe something like this, just a bit more unkempt?

I have also explained to you why it technically clashed with the official Sonic anatomy by pointing out the highly contrasting features such as their limbs (Sally's are more humanoid with muscles and definition when it's canonically noodlish and rubber hose) just for one example.

To add on that, this is a double edged sword because I can cite examples of the female mobians looking as if their bodies were cut from the same stone under particular pens; not exactly diverse.

It's just a (contrasting) style difference.

this isn't really a tutorial but this is how i usually color warm skintones. just abuse brightness, contrasts and saturations and paint over it until it looks a lil pretty lmao

Flats -> first render using layers of opaque color (darks and lights over midtones) -> refine and add deeper tones with a blue tint - realize my tones still aren't contrasted enough so apply a curves layer to amp it up. Which I think I did more of later as well.

New style experiments:

- sticking white beside darker colours
- going for richer shading
- erasing lines where they don’t need to be
- being more expressive with the drawings
- using the backgrounds for contrast / emphasis

unfortunately, doomfist suffers the same fate. a horrendous carelessness for his deep cool skintone. fortunately this doesn't contrast him in the game. (see how the highlights are on the same contrast level, but one having more reds than just straight grey.)
