Compare this to comic books. There's much less economy and rhythm to the storytelling. This isn't necessarily a bad thing in a good writer and artist's hands but often it makes stories much harder to jump into.

Never in a million years I would've thought to see a mature side stories of seeing double but HERE WE ARE!
I remember liking reading all of these stories that would be reprinted, but it was pretty obvious to me, even as a little kid, that most of the non-Archie characters they published were pretty clearly trying to imitate stuff that worked beforehand

@DanaTerrace Some of my favourite manga series are Goodnight Punpun by Inio Asano and The Flowers of Evil by Shuzo Oshimi. I would describe them both as "coming of age" stories but they both have a bit of darkness to that, so definitely not for younger audiences. 💀✨
