It's obviously supposed to be Classic DK. I feel like whoever was making the title screen was just told to draw Donkey Kong, and they didn't realize it was supposed to be Young Cranky. A lot of the art on the title screen feels off in general.

In an RPG setting, his role in the group is the assassin, but he's actually pretty loud as a person. His element is (obviously) water.
