Just to clear up some confusion: the "summon the suit" idea is only in the Disney show. In the comics, the various outfits he has are actual pieces of clothing he has to put on.

They're (generally) not tied to the different alters either.

There has been confusion over what decade Charlie wore in Alastor's musical number, but I confidently say it's early 30s. Alastor died in '33 and Charlie's other concept dresses also look 1930s.
