The aesthetic is fine in itself but I noticed that even when presented with the already large tool box that @PrehistoricK offers, people often don't quite know what to do with it because pop culture taught them only that one aesthetic.

Dark units without charge discs complemented by Light units with a charge focus is a good aesthetic. They fill in for what the other lacks.

As an FFXIV comic artist I always have to consider how to simplify the original designs in a way that captures the core aesthetic. Many gearsets don't make sense and/or are overly ornamental! It's ok for illustration, not for comics lol
