5. I am a HEAVY reference user. I usually just deadass trace the pose when drawing digitally, especially since it speeds up the drafting process. Plus, it teaches so much muscle memory for when I go traditional. I will always advocate using references!!

Now soft shading! Excuse the pixelation of the tutorial slide, these are 300x300px pagedolls so that’s an even tinier slice of that aha. I soft shade muscles mostly, again keeping in mind the light source. Fill, then erase towards the light with a soft brush and adjust opacity.
