So.. here's the four comics I reas when I was fourteen. @JimLee & Chris Claremont were working on X-Men, Marvel UK were reprinting US Spider-Man titles, I'd discovered the Rocketeer thanks to the film and Peter David & Dale Keown introduced the Smart Hulk.
At the time, Wolverine had not yet been described in these terms (he actually really didn’t have a lot of narrative descriptions yet). It may be fitting then, that Claremont had ultimately intended for Sabretooth to be Wolverine’s father. 6/6

In terms of cultural reach and legacy, film adaptation remains a problematic badge of honor for comics artists, and despite his rather large storytelling contribution to the X-Men franchise and its subsequent film adaptations, Claremont has not always received his due. #xmen 1/6

La actriz #DeWandaWise sería perfecta para interpretar a Ororo Munroe #Storm en el #MCU. Luciría muy bien con su atuendo de #QueenOfWakanda o el clásico de la saga X-Men de Claremont y Byrne.

Chris Claremont in 1985: we should push X-Men into darker and more overtly political territory. All the X-Men are exhausted and traumatized and desperately trying to make things work.
Dave Cockrum in 1985: Nightcrawler should meet a cowboy dinosaur
Thinking optimistically, dare we suggest that Claremont's well-established emphasis on character depth and agency made the characters sexier? 6/7
These sources are dubious, of course, but they reflect broader cultural attitudes. There are a great many “hottest comics character” lists on the internet, and Claremont’s X-Men represent an enormously disproportionate number of characters on these lists. 4/7
@MahmudAsrar Rachel and Kitty, which Marvel will probably never allow to move forward, despite Claremont's intentions.
From Claremont to Claremont, Episode 3 rolls on...
This time @Charlton_Hero and I get x-treme and (theoretically) meet the all-new Brotherhood of Evil Mutants in X-Force #5!
Then, the Chrises will discuss ONE of the Chrises' "Soundtrack of his Life"

Wolverine's number one most defining character trait in every "modern" comics with him I've read is the fact that he likes to drink. This isn't really a thing in the old Claremont stuff? Who is responsible for the flattening of Wolverine's character into "he really likes beer"
Muppet Babies, 1984
Flintstone Kids, 1986
Pup Named Scooby Doo, 1988
Tom & Jerry Kids, 1990
Every two years, animators were dusting off their IP's and de-aging them.
Claremont, who knew what pulse to place his finger, brought in the X-Babies by 1986.
From Claremont to Claremont, Episode 3 rolls on as @IowasJoe and I try and help Wolverine get to the bottom of his history - with mixed and confusing results!
Also: Joe shares with us the "Soundtrack of his Life"
It's #FCTCXMen, Ep 3c - Wolverine (v.2) #49

One of the more common character tropes that Claremont uses is the idea of the being who is fighting their own dark destiny, and – more often than not – losing. 1/5 #xmen
20 years ago this month both Marvel & DC had some weird ass gimmicks for their books from DC's "Full Coverage" to Marvel's "Nuff Said".
I bet Claremont was depressed as hell this month.
Storm's birthday is on November 25th according to Chris Claremont. Happy Birthday to a real life Icon. God's Own X-Man.

@ClaremontRun Hey, @tegan_oneil5000,
Didn't you do a whole series of deep dives into the kink / hypersexual nature of Claremont & Alan Davis EXCALIBUR?
One can never get too much of that brand of weirdness.
