Whatever your thoughts are on "The Batman," bringing in Batgirl as the Dark Knight's first sidekick (and connecting her to Poison Ivy) was a genius move which really helped differentiate this take on Batman from the others. A great idea!

The reason line art is so important is that it gives separation to different aspects of an art piece- even artists who lean more to a painting style use line art! It gives a more definitive look, whereas no separation between elements can be hard to differentiate and look at.

My advice is when doing a colored work, one should constantly check that the values differentiate themselves in grayscale mode.
