It's not even for the content of the cutscenes themselves (although that's obviously very good as well), but I remember being VERY impressed by the quality of the images/animations for cutscenes in Fire Emblem Awakening. And it was on the 3DS!

Each chapter opens up with an awesome calligraphic scroll that sets the tone for what you're about to play. However these cutscenes run at sub-20 FPS which undersells their dramatic grandeur a little bit. Still, they have some hella good art on display!

I would argue that Sonic Forces had ambition and passion, but it did not come across in the final product at least in the grand scheme of things.

Just look at the concept art and you'll see what I mean. Most of this stuff was only visible in cutscenes, changed around cut...(1/2)
