When I first designed Finch, I based him off of an Oriole bird. I think I was also inspired by the Rito from Wind Waker too, at least for the nose.

I just finished a new drawing for him and I updated him a bit. I'm looking forward to posting it eventually.

Given that the Zora and Rito co-existing in Breath of the Wild contradicts The Wind Waker's lore that the one species evolves into the other, it occurred to me the other day that the BOTW Rito could just as easily have evolved from River Zora

Meeting Master Revali was an experience to behold.

While he wasn't what Teba had previously thought of the Rito Champion, he did delight himself in discovering what his idol truly stood for: Being a fine warrior, and resting like one.
