"Their fan I tickle from serpents to dragons
I'd immerse you in flame, your milk and your passion
Lead weight for his from his old turn, the young, I was eagerest
On using the stairs I, how nested to find you..."

"The daggers act very similar to cobras, my own little hooded serpents. They have a mind of their own, they strike fast without warning, especially when provoked. Do be a good lad and do not tempt me or them."

In J.R.R. Tolkien’s translation of the Elder Edda, it is said of the dragon, Fafnir:
Men sing of serpents
ceaseless guarding
gold and silver
greedy-hearted;
but fell Fafnir
folk all name him
of dragons direst,
dreaming evil.

Dragons in #medieval times were described as the largest of serpents, & akin to the Devil. 🐍 Wicked & cunning, #dragons were particularly associated with adultery. 🐉 #FairyTaleTuesday
Séance d'étude sur les squamates : iquanes, lézards, serpents...
Un peu de couleur pour changer, c'était dommage de rester en noir et blanc pour le Draco ^^
@bangbangbeefke1 Those dragon designs OOF. I know it's not an original complaint but I remember going to the Balinese temples when I was a kid and being in AWE of those wild-eyed stone dragons/serpents
The Disney designs are so painfully commercialized it's horrible🙄
some great serpents I made over the course of the past few months for our group chat
Depictions of dragons and serpents are found in Ethiopian art. The illustration are sophisticated and they look much more like reptilian.
Here are some of my favourite images of dragons in #Ethiopian manuscripts art, from the @britishlibrary collection.

Harmonia and Kadmos, graphite on pergamenata paper, 5x7 inches. For @monthoflove week 3, “Embrace.”
Harmonia, goddess of harmony, child of Aphrodite and Ares. She and her husband Kadmos had a loving marriage, and one day were changed into serpents, their coils twined together.
Theory: you don't get Laocoon and his Sons until you have children and then you and your children are attacked by giant serpents sent by the gods. Then you can't bear to look at it, cause you're trying to fight off giant serpents. https://t.co/eislzSa1Fl

The man the legend the Gheist
Still the same himbo crushing hard on Vol'jin and picking all cats he finds on the street but now with an only slightly less tragic and entirely new backstory involving a certain group of trolls with a thing for blood and wind serpents
Loch Iorsa on the Isle of Arran has it's very own #monster myth.
The loch's name means 'loch of the snakes/ serpents'. This serpent is perhaps a wurm: a dragon with no legs nor wings from folklore.

Harmonia & Kadmos — @KayshaSiemens
Goddess of harmony Harmonia married mortal Kadmos, but their lives were cut short when they were transformed into serpents. Kadmos embraced his weeping love first as man, then as snake; their coils twined together as she met her matching fate.
