Here's GIF showing how I set up my lighting layers, for those who are curious. The trick is to set them up individually, without having to worry about colors while rendering. While I was painting the different light sources and shadows, I did them in black and white.

made my own quick rice grain brush, since i couldn't find any good resources online ! it's great for quickly painting random piles of rice 🍚🍚🍚i'd need more practice & better techniques for actual food illustrations but i like how these turned out 👀
