三種類の円柱（奥）に subdivision surface を掛けてみた結果（手前）。見た目は同じだけど、底面の中心のトポロジーが異なる。左から順に、1) 見た目通りの三角ポリゴン、2) 四角ポリゴンの中心に面積ゼロの多角形、3) 四角ポリゴンの中心に穴。
