Cecil Umbra!

Local bogeyman that loves stealing neat things, mimics, and the occult. He started off as a D&D character but now I invested all my love into him.

He also loves to dress to impress. Regardless of his form he will always use he/him pronouns.,

For this piece, I tried mimicking the coloring and shading style of another artist I follow, and despite how hard it was and how shitty the mimic was, it was SUPER fun to see how all the colors would mix together when they all had like 50% opacity. Glow effect added for fun.

I've always wanted to try making Magenta into a Sonic X screenshot so I finally did it! I tried to mimic the shading in the original screenshot too.

ACT 2. Batfishes from the genus Platax have mimetic juveniles, with different species mimicking all sorts of different things, from leaves, to crinoids, to poisonous flatworms! Here’s a juvenile Platax pinnatus mimicking a Pseudobiceros worm. Worm in last pic.

CW: blood

I loved the look of the cinematics so I wanted to try mimicking the style but also blending it with my own
.
Also hysteria mode looks cool so I tried cramming it into this style too lol

Some more pieces. I recently have the affinity to go with more expressive strokes and mimicking traditional styles. 🎨

I just binged by for the millionth time and I was overwhelmed by my love for this girl
she gives me Astro Boy vibes so I went and tried to recreate a manga cover (and tried to mimic Tezuka's style but kinda gave up)

This was an Age of Exploration. I was very insecure about my art style (or rather lack of art style) and so i tried to mimic so many other people's works. I did however draw for a variety of fandoms which was really cool! it was just a lot of experimentation

I actually rather hate that I'm so good at mimicking other styles yet my own refuses to be refined. Come on artist brain. You've been drawing for long enough to actually draw well, I should know what to fix in mine without having to stare down someone elses.
