No night missions may have been because of the relatively slow Amiga CPUs. 🤔 But it really didn't feel optimised, making me think that they didn't have time for optimisation before it went out, and maybe no time to implement darkness. I didn't mind. Throwing flares is a pain. 😁

..oh yeah: The PS1 and Amiga versions used a different font too. Has a funky stylised look to it. 🤓
The Amiga version didn't have night-time missions implemented.. all missions were day-time, even though you can bring along flares. 😁 And the geoscape had an untextured globe.
