Dabi's story of healing is no where near over. He's where he is for a reason, and he knows this, and that's all I wanted there to be for his recovery for now. In a way, he's further ahead than Tenko.
Tenko still has a lot to come to terms with.
I hope I can revisit them soon.
I interrupt the end of this comic with a bit of humor and levity. The interruption is intentional of course. Nothing here was meant to be an end all. Dabi has a long way to go.
The second portion is from the Epilogue, "Weight" - Tenko has a long way to go too.
Probably the most important panel as it's referenced again in "Weight" (Epilogue). No where in this comic has Dabi or Tenko looked at eachother. Too much conflict. The difference between Dabi's smile atm, and Tenko's imagined scowl is huge. This feels like rejection to Tenko.
Dabi offers some slack to the situation, even though his body language is still VERY closed. But Dabi KNOWS that where he is, it's best for HIM. He doesn't want Tenko here, with his burden. It's /HIS/.
Dabi's words aren't reaching Tenko 100%, there's too much guilt there.
these jokes fall flat...
Dabi knows it.
Tenko knows it.
There's so much unsaid here. Tenko feels like he can't actually share how he feels to be working for Endeavor. All that Enji has done for him. Dabi is a bit frustrated here. They both are.
