What a phenomenal episode. The production's totally fucky still since we've got a bunch of Studio Junio animators popping up under a Yamamuro episode, but holy hell, it's so good. Miyahara, Nakatsuru, and Sato kick the episode off in spectacular fashion.

I suppose to compare, we could look at Yamamuro's work on a few of the movies he did in fact work on (he wasn't character designer on the films until M8). Each of these has a strong composition and character art - personally I think they hold up rather well.

Another comparison with Vegeta. Which one looks better to you? I'm personally not a fan of Toriyama's here (sorry) and Yamamuro's is a bit bland, so to the surprise of no one I'd go with Shintani. Curious to hear who you guys prefer and why 👀 Credit to for the picture
