As much as I love Oshima’s and Uekawa’s Sonic designs, there’s still a part of me that believes Sonic needs another change in art style. One that can bridge the gap between the “Classic” and “Modern” aesthetic.
What do you guys think of the current Sonic Channel style? I personally love that Yuji Uekawa keeps reinventing himself while staying true to the characters’ designs.
So I learned these are by the same artist. Bless you, Uekawa~
Here is my 2D design sheet for the Sonic figure in this imaginary toy line, based on the illustrations of Sonic Team artist Yuji Uekawa.
Each figure comes with accessories, a display stand, and their own piece of a buildable figure.
Let us know if you'd like to see more!!
As much as I adore Tyson Hesse's interpretation of Sonic, I will probably always prefer the artistic work of Yuji Uekawa.
