It can often be difficult to draw a very long curve without having to break it down in small segments. But when you do so, it's extra difficult to make each line segment align seamlessly! To hide those seams, I use a "fluffy" line brush instead of the usual straight one.

i only use that method for high res meshes, i often rebuild extracted game meshes for low resolution patterns for pepakura, in which i prefer to clean up with quads
I use crease tool to think about the pattern seamlines before exporting it
