Once we had a rough direction, we refined it and tried different color treatments. We also worked hard on rendering the star bomb icon. I'm so proud of that icon despite it being such an obvious idea, and I think the added star-wick and rimlighting really added a lot.

Roughing out the planet for my world... the way ocean current, wind currents, air pressure, and latitude (and mountains) all combine to determine biomes is insane. Simplified/ bent the rules a bit.
Only got one city solidified right now. Will add more as the map is refined.

The piece that defined my current look! I asked the artist to give me a more anthro syle, and he delivered in spades (or clubs).

This has been the basis for most of my refs since then, and still one of my favorite pictures by one of my favorite artists.
