I feel like part of the reason why that one HD model mod for SM64PC looked so weird was because it used modern Mario's design, which inherently clashed with SM64's art style.
Something about his face proportions. even Odyssey Mario feels like an entirely different design.

Yeah, I think I'll roll with these proportions. Next time, clean the mesh up from all this destructive deformation. (Close seems, smooth out mesh, etc)
