In the late 1920s MP Josiah Wedgwood proposed a project to write a biography of every MP who'd sat in the Commons. Given a Deed of Charter in 1940, in 1951 the govt granted funding to resume the project as we know it.

Martin Lewis (1881-1962) was an Australian-born printmaker who traveled the world before settling in New York City in 1900. His images of 1920s New York street clearly influenced Eric Hopper's famous "Nighthawks" (pic 4).

The quest for a 'Flying Submarine' has been almost as long a search as the history of heavier than air flight!
These drawings and proposals date from the 1920s up until the late 1960s. To my knowledge this machine has never been created, perhaps another 100 years might do it?
