The Permian ray-finned fish #Brachydegma is long-known, but new data from CT scans gave paleo nerds a better idea of its affinities and suspensorium* anatomy this week, e.g. showing a joint b/w the articular and symplectic. #FossilFriday #SciNews
#FossilFriday Had to dig out some old data on the pterosaur Anhanguera, reminding me of our now ancient 2003 @Nature article on pterosaur brain endocasts—https://t.co/ZI1LTxe1lP. Here's some fresh 3D viz plus the cover art by Kyle McQuilkin & Ryan Ridgely that Nature didn't use.
People have been writing palaeontology-themed poetry for at least 200 years! This awesome timeline by @KatrinEmery shows what topics people have written about in the poems we've featured. #FossilFriday
What if going forward GameFreak decided to keep the trend of fusing Fossil Pokémon?

So my job involves going to the local museum and I just lose my mind when I see the fossils, so forgive me as I be a nerd and show you the skull of a Columbiana mammoth, American lion feat. my hand (bruh), complete skeleton of a Sabre tooth cat and short faced bear🥹

Withers Bay - A small outcropping of land that juts out of the beach & overlooks the water. Back in the town's heyday it was a popular spot for large ships to dock. Now it's an empty place taken over by nature and fossils, save for some lonely houses
Revisited my first character design: Rhia the albino dinaurian. She has a very unfortunate past, but since being revived on Earth she’s received a lot of support. Now, she’s made a full recovery, including new human legs, and has a great appreciation for humankind

Its the last day of #YorkshireFossilsWeek! There are no gaps left on our geological map, but fear not, we have one time period left: the Pleistocene!
This lasted from 2.5 million to 12000 years ago and covers a time of environmental change often called the Ice Age
@shareocs Hello! I am FossilizedShark and I draw Pokémon and Pokemon accessories.
Oh, so THAT'S how they get Pokémon from fossils...
Let's welcome Archen to the team!
Because I got attached to this concept from a joke post.. Fossil restoration guys revive warden Ingo, who everyone naturally assumes to be the twins' great great grandpa
Stumbled upon this wild fossil. Mimetaster hexagonalis was a marrellomorph arthropod, a distant relative of trilobites. This particular specimen was preserved in pyrite in the German Hunsrück Slate.

⚠️Warning!⚠️ There has been an extreme spike in solar radiation in the Fossil Falls region. Many Wanderlings unprotected are starting to experience mutation. This is a PSA to wear sunscreen and go outside at your own risk. Stay safe out there.
