Interesting! (LeTonya Charles) looks to be a villain (at least an antihero), from what I've read. It'd be really cool if they had tried, back then, to rehabilitate the character concept of Cyborgirl into, not just a hero, but a member.

Superman should always be a beacon of hope and optimism. That's who he is. But every once and a bit, it's interesting to see how terrifying he can be. While not perfect, "Batman Beyond" gave us that scary Supes without sacrificing his character.

Random thought: A "Static Shock" episode guest-starring The Flash would've been flat-out fun. All three super-powered geniuses fighting some of Static's biggest bads? Yeah, count me in.

Remember when Justice League did body-horror, I do...

Today's hidden gem: "Justice League Unlimited" is worth checking out, hands down. The story is witty and smart, and the artwork is simply amazing! The use of body language and the sense of motion on display is incredible. Read it!

Firefly made his debut on The New Batman Adventures on this day back in 1998! Batman even broke out the fancy duds in "Torch Song" for the occasion! Can you remember the cartoon Batgirl references in this episode?

my favorite design of WW so far (though I have a soft spot for the DCAU design)

New comic book day is the perfect time to bask in some of the amazing artwork that has graced the covers of the "Batman: The Animated Series" comic book titles. There's legit beautiful stuff here. I could've posted so many more, seriously.

Shout-out to artist Craig Rousseau! His run on the first "Batman Beyond" ongoing series is legendary and his "Batman: Gotham Adventures" and "Justice League Adventures" guest spots were always a treat. Seek out his work, folks!

Check out artist Tim Levin's take on the Justice League and some classic DC Comics foes from his "How To Draw" book series! If you want to see a pile of great DCAU-inspired art, hunt down these books!

Watching the three-part Justice League episode "The Savage Time" today. It's a heckuva fun yarn with alternate realities, the Blackhawks, Vandal Savage and the Justice League teaming up with the Allies to fight a world war. Epic stuff, folks!

I already planned to watch this episode today, but on this day 26 years ago the Batman: The Animated Series episode "Fire From Olympus" first aired. A nifty coincidence! It's got strong writing, beautiful animation and a clever finale!

An extra little "Over The Edge" tidbit! The first ongoing Batman Beyond comic book actually did a follow-up to the episode in issue The issue - written by Hilary J. Bader with art by Min S. Ku - explored Barbara Gordon's trauma.

Spinning a little Batman Beyond this Saturday morning, specifically the episode "Meltdown." Mr. Freeze! Blight! Unquestionably a highlight from the series, this episode rocked me to the core when it first aired way back in Feb. 1999.

One of my favorite "Justice League" images come from the "Justice League Adventures" comic series. Just check out this iconic cover to issue The cover art is by the legendary Rick Burchett.

Breaking out the Batman: The Complete Animated Series Blu-ray set to watch "On Leather Wings" tonight. This episode looks just so damn good in HD. The first time I watched this episode it was on a small teeny tiny boob tube TV. Unreal.
