2020 was me tryna experiment w somewhat realistic shading and it was just 💀💀 I also dused to slap a darker saturated shade for shading rather than using different colors. I'm still improving but I'm happy with how far my art has gotten.

I say it's more that saturated colors create more contrast, therefore, it becomes more eye catching.

For my case it was because the OP was too desaturated for phones.

Then I do something i call a 'color map'. i pretty much use a super, super saturated red on an Overlay layer to splash some color around.

Then i chuck the opacity down until you can't see that much of it.

It adds a bit of variation and nuance in the hair.

When I woke up this morning, the sky was hazy and orange because of a far-away wildfire that saturated the sky with smoke.

In turn, I ended up drawing Angel Island on fire because it was the first drawing idea I got today.

Honestly a day doesn't go by without me missing the JP3 Pteranodon and T.Rex alt skins from the DLC

(and yes I know that Rex is just a botched 2001 movie skin and not an alt but it looks so much nicer than the desaturated bull from JWE2)
