@Ephemeral_Moth It’s all about the shapes! Practice drawing cats with base shapes! For the first cat i used triangles, and for the second circles! Shape language is so important! In faces, bodies, eyes, markings…It’s applicable to everything!

Most recent commission, an Aasimar warlock magical girl with a Tressym familiar/patron! I really tried to go for the traditional schoolgirl outfit shapes that a lot of magical girls have but making it actual armor instead.

@Ephemeral_Moth i think you need to start with the shape of your character BEFORE doing any fur shapes or patterning. i have a few character designs with neck floof, but i specifically keep in mind the shape of the over all character to get more varied shapes
