this is just a mock-up, but i wanted to test an easy style to do for comics. scratchy lines with some decent shading - not so simple but not so complex. enough to easily do a page or two. would something like this be visually appealing?

these two are probably my best examples, first one didn't have the lit up parts erased on the shading layer but, aside from sylization, the shadows are mostly connected and then emphasized by a gradient, second one did have the lit up areas erased
