I am always trying to create a narrative in my paintings, which is why I am using less and less posing models as reference. An artwork without a narrative is sort of orfan to me, it needs to tell a story, it needs a path.

This was back in 2021 when I was still developing the show. I always envisioned Lightnin’ as a sort of wise-guy character, like Yakko Warner or Groucho Marx. So, one of my friends sent me a soundbite from Animaniacs (1990) to animate.
