I'm pretty sure that the lazy, easy going -but powerfull - Juan from Suikoden 3 was inspired by Garou MOTW Dong Hwan, who also is a kind of lazy, easy going, powerfull genius.

Names and designs are also pretty close.

The monster was from a circus, a cursed hand mirror that could create copies of anyone caught in the reflections of any circus's mirrors.
The actual Boss was Vigo (he/him), a vampire who framed one of the npcs for murder a few years back.
