I’m trying to nail down a style that will look decent at pfp size that I can do for icon commissions in the near future. I think this is going on the right direction with line width, but I need to be careful with how the expressions read at different sizes.
and sometimes there'll be a foreground, middle ground, and background, all in one shot -- well, you can vary line width for those too to give it more depth and breathing room in the smaller (farther) objects. this difference in line width can be subtle or exaggerated & extreme
here's an instance of a comic where the panels switch line width based on what shot is being presented. i usually try to use 5-7px with strong pressure for my regular lines and fixed-width 1-3px brushes for distance models

it's the eyes and mouth man, they have the bandwidth to push that in the film while it feels less priority in the games. I'd rather keep the proportions/mono eye we have now and just push the expressions a little more. They do it great in the comics!
