Happy #CanadaDay! Here's a new painting of Albertosaurus based on the new @RoyalTyrrell mount, thanks to Darren Tanke for the photos! #SciArt #PaleoArt #Dinosaur
So I've been trying to make a better Beipiaosaurus inexpectus, a small therizinosaurid. Since I didn't like my first try on it, tried with a more natural pose and what I hope is better colouration. Posted both for comparison #Paleoart #dinosaurs

@JoschuaKnuppe The swans & baboon by C.M. Kosemen are also the most popular/consistently viral illustrations from All Yesterdays. Not strictly paleoart, but definitely gets "regular people" thinking in the right direction
A very inspiring recent discussion on Prehistoric art reminded me of another really interesting earlier research debate:
The depiction of motion. Is the fascination of animated art as old as ... the #Paleolithic?

@LittleBaardo Hope you enjoy them!
I certainly had fun making them!
Love, your paleoart community
@LittleBaardo See if any of these #paleoart pieces of mine work for you, @LittleBaardo. I have even more of those on my website's gallery page: https://t.co/7tiDwEKRq0

My recent baby tyrannosaur gave me the painting bug, so here's the very, VERY early rough stages of a new WIP. I might try more varied perspectives after more practice, but for now I find profile poses to be a comfortable outlet to experiment and learn in. #paleoart #ceratopsidae

Absence of very large penguins today is likely due to the Oligo-Miocene radiation of marine mammals.

Ovatiovermis was described recently-ish, from the Burgess Shale. It ate dust.

My (Twitter) debut as a paleo artist. Gorgosaurus, watercolor pencils. Coloration based on living king vultures
My submission at Concurso Internacional de Ilustraçao de Dinossauros. I wanted to depict a group of Kairuku grebneffi, swimming alongside to Megalampris keyesi. A snapshot from a submerged New Zealand of the Oligocene. #kairuku #penguin #paleoart #digitalart #oligocene #ciid
Tyrannosaurus Rex sketches based on the old-school reconstructions from my childhood dinosaur books - and a bit of inspiration from Don Bluth's The Land Before Time too; one of my favourite films!

How many #paleontology people @2019NAPC #NAPC2019 would be interested in an informal meet up & sketch day at the @LAZoo, looking at & sketching modern animals from a #paleoart perspective?
If so, which day is better, Thursday or Friday?
People who pay attention to Paleo documentaries or watch the NHC podcast probably already heard about the upcoming NHK Doc.
I was discussing some stuff on Twitter regarding what appears to be their Rugops when I noticed something which I think is kinda funny.
