agggh realized i was blurring & redithering a bitmap with a dither pattern already on it which was stupid

found the old files and just added some gradients to the original color-labeled shading image and can dynamically dither the image

should've shaded this ages ago tbh hhhhhh

Its kind of hard to see so the model does have vertex normals the gradients in the video just overpower it abit much. This screenshot has the gradient shading disabled.

wow I jsut realized these frames twitter is really eating the quality of. I put them on transparent backgrounds so all the gradients are getting messed up :/ here they are with white backgrounds instead to show more how they should actually look ^^;

like uhh here's that comic without the gradients, and then the gradient at 100% no overlay. it just makes it kinda moodier i guess. and the gradient follow the up-down dark-light theme

A bunch more tinkering later, I now understand a lot more about how different gradients combined into XYZ to create curvature, and what things should go in each channel. Main remaining issue is some depth stuff on nose and eyes, but I think I can fix it.
